FARMINGTON, MI (November 30, 2013) -- LOC Federal Credit Union has a long-standing commitment to serving their communities. On Veterans’ Day each year LOC’s offices are closed to honor our nation’s veterans and active military personnel, and all of LOC’s employees join in volunteering their services in many ways.
Many helped set up and take down chairs for attendees at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, as well as assisted with the disabled and elderly at this event. Others assisted the Community Living Centers with painting and yard work at group homes, and another group helped the Salvation Army with preparation of its holiday services and Angel Tree Tag program. Employees also assisted the Desert Angels prepare Miracle Boxes for our troops serving oversees and designed cards and letters to accompany the boxes. The Volunteer Livingston program provides preschool, youth, teen and senior community events, so another LOC group spent time organizing multiple rooms at this facility.
“Each year we look forward to this credit union wide day of volunteering,” said President/CEO Jim Dickinson. “We feel it’s important to give back to the communities we serve and to pay tribute to our veterans and military personnel, and I can see this continuing for many years to come,” he added.
