Securian board appoints three new second VPs and elevates two to VP

ST. PAUL, MN (March 7, 2014) -- The Securian Financial Group board of directors approved five officer-level promotions.

Former senior corporate counsel Mark J. Geldernick is now second vice president, Law. He joined Securian in 2007 after eight years as corporate counsel for Best Buy. He has multiple responsibilities, including providing legal advice for two business units. Geldernick has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and a law degree from

Susan M. Munson-Regala was promoted from director to second vice president and actuary for the group life insurance division. She began her actuarial career at Securian as an intern in the summer of 1987 and joined the company in 1990 as an actuarial analyst. Kristi J. Nelson has spent her entire career at Securian. She joined the company in 1987 as an actuarial student and is now second vice president and actuary for the credit protection business. Siddarth S. Gandhi was promoted to vice president of strategic business development. He joined Securian in 2010 as second vice president to lead the company’s enterprise strategic business development including enterprise strategy development and mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he was in strategy and business development leadership at Ameriprise Financial. William M. Gould will serve as vice president, individual actuarial and finance. Gould joined the company’s accounting department in 1996. He now oversees the individual life insurance division’s finance and product development function and the individual annuity financial area.
