Experienced professional hired to deliver executive recruiting services

FARMERS BRANCH, TX (April 28, 2014) -- Marcus Cotton, a professional who brings with him extensive expertise in executive recruiting, project management, and career enhancement, has been hired to refocus the executive recruiting efforts of Credit Union Resources, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Cornerstone Credit Union League. Susan Looney, senior vice president of Credit Union Resources, says Cotton will provide the kind of leadership that will be critical to the success of credit unions by identifying and placing executives who will lead the credit union movement into the future.

“Credit Union Resources has been helping credit unions attract and retain highly-skilled and talented executives for more than 15 years, and in order to continue to fulfill this commitment, we realized we needed to have someone on staff driving a division that would focus exclusively on executive recruiting across the nation, so that our staffing consultants could devote their time to helping job seekers find and build rewarding credit union careers,” explains Looney.

Cotton has played critical roles in coordinating and leading recruiting teams in the development and execution of robust executive search strategies. In addition to project management, Cotton has extensive experience in the training and development of recruiting staffs. He has held key roles in client relations, recruiting and business development for rapidly expanding search firms in the credit union, oil and gas, information technology, and engineering industries.

Cotton holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing from Tennessee State University.

Exceptional organizations, Cotton says, understand the criticalness of having the right leadership in the corner office. And hiring the best talent, he says requires a disciplined process that includes an assessment of the credit union’s needs; research to identify promising candidates; followed by candidate assessment and verification.

“By having two divisions – an executive search division and a staffing division – we are able to more strategically and efficiently cater to the needs of our credit union clients,” Cotton says.

“And because we serve credit unions exclusively, our executive consultants are highly skilled at finding the right talent who can contribute to the growth and success of your organization. So whether you are searching for a CEO or lending professional, Credit Union Resources can help,” adds Looney.
