Honor Credit Union: powered by honor donates $5,000 to Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor

ST. JOSEPH, MICHIGAN (April 29, 2014) --  Powered By Honor, Honor Credit Union’s non profit community support organization, is proud to support the Boys and Girls Club of Benton Harbor.  Powered By Honor has made a $5,000 donation to the youth focused organization to contribute to their Fiber Optic Project.  The goal of the Fiber Optic Project is to provide high speed connectivity capability needed to take advantage of state-of-the-art computer, multimedia, and educational technology.

The Boys and Girls of Club of Benton Harbor has been helping kids ages 6 – 18 for fifteen years.  Providing after-school tuturing and mentorship helps foster academic success, good charater,  leadership skills, and healthy lifestyles in the children the club is able to affect.  With a membership fee of only $5.00 a year, donations like Honor Credit Union’s are critical in assisting with projects like the Fiber Optic Project.  The technology this project will allow is an important aspect of assuring the over 300 club members a day have an engaging experience that encourages them to continue attending regularly and achieve a positive outcome utilizing high-tech equipment.
