The Members Group announces speakers for 2014 TMG Executive Summit

DES MOINES, IA (June 5, 2014) --  To provide leaders of its financial institution clients with energizing ideas for growth and success, payments processor The Members Group (TMG) has prepared an agenda of inspiring speakers for its 2014 TMG Executive Summit.

The agenda is built around a theme of “People. Passion. Purpose.” Kicking off the three-day event, which will take place July 14-16 in Lake Tahoe, Calif., will be Olympic Gold Medalist John Naber. Naber promises a unique perspective on innovation with his presentation on the methods used by Olympic champions to solve problems and beat the competition.

“This year, we’re focused on higher-level inspiration for executive leaders,” said Georgann Smith, vice president of marketing for TMG. “To win the hearts and minds of consumers, financial institutions must train their leaders to think like champions. It’s in that spirit that we are excited to announce our speakers, who have each excelled in the areas of igniting people, passion and purpose.”

Earlier this year, TMG took home a Best in Category NOVA award from the Iowa Chapter of the American Marketing Association for its 2013 conference. According to Smith, attendees can expect an even greater experience this year from the award-winning event.

Following Naber on Tuesday, July 15, a “Future of Payments Panel” will talk hot-topic, future-focused technologies, like mobile banking and payments, data analytics and new methods for authentication, including EMV and tokenization.

“Attendees of previous TMG leadership events have raved about the value of panel discussions,” said Smith. “To keep the momentum going, we’re hosting another in 2014. This panel, made up of industry executives and financial institution leaders, will discuss the innovations necessary to win the loyalty of high-value consumers.”

Andrea Stritzke, vice president of regulatory compliance for PolicyWorks, a sister company of TMG that helps credit unions specifically prepare for and comply with regulations, will also present on Tuesday. She will be followed by Adam Carroll of National Financial Educators, who will talk about leveraging human assets to push past mediocrity.

The next day, July 16, attendees will experience presentations centered on inspiration for building a legacy at their financial institutions. Colonel (Ret.) Gary Steele will take the stage to share his exceptional story, including his legacy as the first African-American to play varsity football at West Point. Susan Mitchell and Brandi Stankovic of Mitchell Stankovic & Associates will pick up there, sharing ideas for how credit unions and community banks can be intentional about activating their financial institution’s own legacy. An afternoon session focused on creating value in “the new payments playground” will be given by Ron Shevlin, a senior analyst with Aite Group.

Concluding the conference will be a people-focused talk by Doug Lipp, former Disney University head of training. Lipp has promised an entertaining and insightful journey behind the scenes of Disney, one of the largest media conglomerates in the world. Executive Summit attendees will learn how this creative giant struck a cultural balance between innovation and legacy to deepen consumer relationships.

To take full advantage of the beautiful conference setting, TMG has planned several fun and relaxing experiences to connect attendees with Lake Tahoe. Attendees will experience golfing, lake-front tours, a “classic Tahoe” beach party and a dining experience in an iconic, lakefront estate known as Lake Tahoe's “Castle in the Sky.”
