SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 6, 2014) -- San Francisco Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit, member- owned financial institution serving the San Francisco community, recently participated in a major playground clean-up in partnership with the San Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA).
Over two days in May, 86 San Francisco Federal Credit Union employees contributed 98 volunteer hours to help clean up Jefferson Square Park Playground and Buchanan Street Mall Playground, both near the Credit Union’s main branch. This year’s clean-up was the largest so far for the Credit Union, with a record number of managers and staff participating. The Credit Union also donated $1,000 to the SFPA for future beautification efforts.
“We’re proudly continuing our volunteer efforts with the SFPA this year, and we’re thrilled that this year’s efforts have drawn record participation from our dedicated staff members,” said Steven Stapp, president and CEO of San Francisco Federal Credit Union.
“All of the playgrounds we cleaned up are within blocks of our Credit Union,” said Stapp. “It’s great to be able to help kids right in our neighborhood enjoy clean, safe playgrounds.”
