Challenge “Accepted!” local credit union pulls for Heat “Three-peat”

MIAMI, FL (June 12, 2014) -- Credit Unions in Miami and San Antonio are showing their support for their NBA teams in creative ways.  South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union (SFEFCU) CEO Mike DiBenedetto accepted a friendly wager from Steve Schipull, CEO of San Antonio-based Generations Federal Credit Union on this year’s NBA Finals Series between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs.

If the Heat wins their third consecutive championship, Schipull has agreed to wear a Heat jersey for the day and make a donation to Credit Unions for Kids on behalf of SFEFCU.

If the Spurs win, DiBenedetto will wear a Spurs jersey for the day and make a donation to Credit Unions for Kids on behalf of Generations FCU.

"We look forward to entertaining this friendly wager between credit unions and we’re fired up to watch the Heat take the court on Thursday and hopefully win for the third consecutive year," said DiBenedetto.

SFEFCU staff is also showing their support for the Miami Heat by wearing Heat attire at work.
