KINGSTON, NY (July 1, 2014) -- Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) celebrated the grand opening of it’s new Woodstock Branch the evening of June 24. The 3,100 square foot full-service branch is located at 85 Mill Hill Road, next door to the Woodstock Playhouse.
The new branch office has a rich history and is widely known to locals as the former location of Christy’s Restaurant. The building was originally built in 1934 as a replica of an authentic English gate house and used as a private residence. Over the years many private residents and small businesses have inhabited the building including a tea shop, nursery school, a lamp shade maker and a few restaurants.
From the very beginning of the renovation, the credit union made it a priority to maintain the integrity and unique charm of the structure as it was transformed from restaurant to credit union.
Wayne Winkler, MHV President and CEO, states, “The relocation of our Woodstock branch to a new facility, rich with historical value demonstrates our increased commitment to the community. We are proud to now offer our local members a better banking experience with the convenience of on-site parking and extended hours service.”
The branch lobby is open from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Teller service is available both in person during normal business hours or through the Personal Teller from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. 7 days a week. The Personal Teller is video banking technology that gives members the convenience of conducting their daily banking face-to-face with a teller after hours.
