CHESAPEAKE, VA (July 2, 2014) -- On Saturday, June 7th more than 50 participants on the ABNB Relay for Life team gathered at Landstown High School to walk through the night in support of Relay for Life.
During the past year, various fundraising events, such as employee jean days, flower and candy sales, and 50/50 raffles, were held to raise money for the cause. After all of the fundraising, ABNB's Relay for Life team was able to donate over $3,000.
ABNB has been participating in Relay for Life 16 years ago. Denise Sturgis and Chris Townsend, ABNB employees, have been team captains every year since. "I'll never forget the first year we participated, seeing those survivors walking and saying thank you." said Denise Sturgis, ABNB Relationship Manager. "I want to bring awareness and to help find a cure for this disease. I will continue to lead the ABNB Relay for Life team and walk for another birthday for all."
