SIU Credit Union holds Harrisburg Groundbreaking Ceremony

CARBONDALE, IL (July 9, 2014) -- SIU Credit Union held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, July 8 to celebrate the building of its new location in Harrisburg, IL.  The event took place at 777 Ford Street (at HWY 13 and Veterans Drive) at 11:00 a.m.  The new location will replace the current Harrisburg branch in the SIC Foundation building at 540 N. Commercial, Suite 700.  The event included SIU Credit Union staff, SIU Credit Board Members, the Saline chamber of commerce and the Harrisburg mayor pro-tem.  Speakers at the event were Bill Capie – chairman of the board, Dennis Schaefer – President/CEO, Ayn Bartok – President of the Saline Chamber of Commerce, and Ron Fearheiley – Mayor Pro-Tem of the City of Harrisburg.

Dennis Schaefer said, “We are excited at the opportunities that our new facility will bring to the Harrisburg community and to SIU Credit Union.  Our new location will provide better access to SIU Credit Union products and services as well as provide more convenience to our members.  We look forward to serving our members and growing with the Harrisburg community.”
