NEWBURGH, IN (July 9, 2014) -- After the storm that hit Boonville in May 2014, not only did Heritage Federal Credit Union employees volunteer their Saturday to help teachers, administrators, and staff members of Boonville High School in the huge cleanup effort that it took to get the premises ready for graduation, but HFCU also partnered with BHS to help replenish their desktop and laptop computers that were damaged during that same storm.
“Thank you, Heritage Federal Credit Union, for the most generous donation of 15 desktop and 8 laptop computers for use in our school,” says Mike Whitten, Principal of Boonville High School. “They will be instantly put into our Language Arts and Mathematics classrooms. Your contribution to education is most welcomed and appreciated. We are grateful for the thoughtfulness of businesses in our community to invest in the future of our children. Thank you again for your generosity!”
Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUERME, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union said, “I am very proud that the credit union is able to give back to the community by lending a helping hand. Reaching out to those in need is a big part of our ‘People Helping People’ philosophy, which strengthens our communities and helps make a difference in the lives of those affected by the storm damage.”
