BALTIMORE, MD, (August 22, 2014) -- Today at 4:00 pm, approximately 30 Team Members of MECU of Baltimore, Inc., including President and CEO Gary J. Martin, will take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness and funds to support research into this terrible disease. They will challenge the Maryland and DC Credit Union Association and others in the credit union industry to take the challenge to keep awareness growing.
The Ice Bucket Dump will take place at MECU's Headquarters at 7 E. Redwood St. Baltimore, 21202. An additional 25 employees will be on hand to dump the ice water. The special "guest" will be MECU's mascot, Money Bags.
To raise funds for the ALS Association, MECU is holding a jeans day where employees pay $5 to wear denim. Employees who will be out of the office and many of the MECU Board Members are making contributions to ensure that Gary Martin is part of the drenching.
"I am so proud of the MECU Team Members for being involved with this," said Martin. "They are so committed to supporting people in our community who need their help. They are always up to the challenge."
