EAST LANSING, MI (September 19, 2014) -- MSU Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce its next Blue Mondays concert at MSUFCU’s Headquarters on October 6, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. The event will feature bassist and composer, Christian McBride, who has contributed to the jazz world for the past 20 years, performing with musicians such as Milt Jackson, Roy Haynes, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Pat Metheny. He has also played with/arranged for Isaac Hayes, Chaka Kahn, Lalah Hathaway, Sting, and James Brown.
The Blue Mondays series is part of the MSUFCU Jazz Artist in Residence Endowment, which invests in the MSU College of Music’s curriculum and the community. This partnership also serves as means to enhance high school and middle school music programs across the state. Members can RSVP to Blue Mondays by visiting www.msufcu.org/events. McBride will also perform on October 10, 2014, at 8:00 p.m. with the Jazz Orchestra I at the Fairchild Theater in MSU’s Auditorium. This concert is open to the public, and tickets may be purchased at www.music.msu.edu.
