(September 24, 2014) -- BayPort Credit Union continues to expand its operations, recently opening two new offices, one on the peninsula and one on the southside. BayPort acquired a former Credit Union Service Center in a busy area of northeastern Chesapeake located at 677 North Battlefield Boulevard. This full-service BayPort branch will continue to serve as a shared branch location. Additionally, Hampton Roads Postal Credit Union, located in the Hampton Woods Plaza Shopping Center at 1168 Big Bethel Road in Hampton, began operating as BayPort Credit Union on September 2, 2014. The Credit Union will be celebrating dual grand openings at these facilities October 1-3, 2014.
Gwen Plummer manages the Battlefield Branch and brings more than twenty-nine years of banking experience to her new post. Gwen has lived in Chesapeake for the last twenty-five years and is active in the community. “While Chesapeake continues to grow, the community has never lost sight of being socially responsible. BayPort gives me the opportunity to be involved with our community in meaningful ways.” Her staff, who are all local residents, looks forward to serving family, friends and local businesses.
Anita (Jo) Leonard, former CEO/Manager of Hampton Roads Postal Credit Union, continues to serve as Branch Manager, along with her staff who has served with her for fifteen years. “My staff and I are excited about the new opportunities that are offered at BayPort and look forward to growing our membership in the Hampton community,” shared Jo Leonard.
