Global’s Wear Red campaign raises $2,267 for military organizations

SPOKANE, WA (October 3, 2014) -- A longtime supporter and advocate of the military community, Global Credit Union celebrates a successful Wear Red campaign with ABC affiliates KXLY in raising $2,267.67 for local military organizations.

Launching Memorial Day and running through Patriot’s Day, Global recognized troops by wearing red every Friday and encouraged others to join the movement through word of mouth, social media, television and radio advertising and distributing free Support Our Troops wristbands.

Global also accepted donations and sold Wear Red t-shirts to raise money for the following military organizations: Operation Spokane Heroes, Columbia Basin Veteran's Coalition, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 9, Aviano's Friends of Family, Vicenza's Army Emergency Relief, and Darby's Army Emergency Relief.

This is Global's third Wear Red campaign and community engagement continues to grow each year. Members in all regions are excited to support troops and eager to get involved.

Throughout the four month campaign Global was active in the community advocating the cause at the following events: Skyfest at FAFB, Memorial Day softball tournament at Camp Darby, Army Birthday at Camp Darby, FAFB picnic, Vicenza Independence Day Celebration, 9/11 Solidarity 5K run at Camp Darby, 9/11 Fair at Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds.

As Global celebrates it’s 60th anniversary this year, they pay tribute to their inception as a military credit union founded on Fairchild Air Force Base. With deep ties to the military community, Global’s Wear Red campaign is just one of many ways to say thank you to American troops.
