The San Francisco Federal Credit Union was started by a local accountant, George Trelut, in 1954 as a safe and secure place to obtain low-cost loans and to save money. Started at Trelut’s kitchen table on Capp Street, the San Francisco FCU continued to grow and now serves over 32,000 members in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties.
With five local branches and counting, the San Francisco Federal Credit Union continues to expand and help foster the ideals that the credit union was founded on sixty years ago. “We are proud to be celebrating our 60th Anniversary this year,” said Steven Stapp, President and CEO. “For 60 years we have pledged to serve our members and our community and we will continue to provide the best products and services as we always have.”
