FORUM foundation awards educator grants

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 3, 2014) -- FORUM Credit Union is proud to announce that the FORUM Foundation has awarded more than $25,000 to 15 educator grant recipients for the 2014-2015 school year.

The Foundation is dedicated to strengthening the communities FORUM serves by enhancing educational opportunities through educator grants and collegiate scholarships. The educator grants were available to teachers who are FORUM members or who work for a school district that partners with FORUM.

More than $200,000 in grant requests were submitted for projects that ranged from the creation of a classroom reading center to purchasing new software for classes. Resources purchased from the grants include books, technology, classroom and art supplies, and other various supplies. Selected recipients also represent a variety of disciplines and grade levels. The impact of this school year’s grants will help more than 3,300 students in 15 schools across central Indiana.

This year’s grant recipients include: Jessica Belton – Avon High School, Clara Crosby – Arlington Elementary, Laura LaCross – Riverside Intermediate, Kristin Hancock – GW Carver Montessori 87, Amanda Holland – Mt. Comfort Elementary, Craig Helming – Noblesville High School, Regina Rexrode – Stony Creek Elementary, Christina Riley – Options Charter School, Brenda Walde – Mary Bryan & Southport Elementary, Kendra Kidwell – Abraham Lincoln Elementary, Kelly Looper – Guion Creek Middle School, Danielle Traphagan – New Augusta North, Terri Perkins – Francis Bellamy 102, Joshua Torres – Center Grove High School and Valerie Ferry – Carey Ridge Elementary.
