America First Credit Union rolls out Apple Pay for members

RIVERDALE, UT – (Nov. 20, 2014) –Beginning today, America First Credit Union members can enjoy the benefits of a simple, secure and private way to pay with their America First Credit Union Visa card supporting Apple Pay.

Apple Pay allows users to make payments in stores with a single touch on an iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. When you add a credit or debit card with Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on your device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of your card.

“Security and privacy is our upmost priority when it comes to offering our members the latest in technology and mobile advancements,” said Rich Syme, executive vice president at America First Credit Union. “Apple Pay will bring a new level of efficiency for members, allowing them to pay with their mobile devices in a fast, easy and secure way.”

In addition, when paying for goods and services within apps, Apple Pay can be used with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, reducing the need to manually fill out account forms and card details are kept private and not shared with the online merchant.

“Offering Apple Pay to our membership is a testament to our dedication at America First to offering the most up-to-date technologies and something we’re very excited to provide for our members,” said Brice Mindrum, mobile services manager for America First Credit Union.

Members can download Apple Pay on an iPhone 6 or via Apple’s iTunes website. Apple Pay is also available on the iPhone 6 plus, iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. Consumers can use Apple Pay at more than 220,000 retailers.
