(January 6, 2015) -- Todd Lane, president of the San Diego, CA-based California Coast Credit Union, is the new chairman of the Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation, the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada. In addition, Tena Lozano has been promoted to serve as the Foundation’s executive director full time.
Beth Dooley, president and CEO of Fresno, CA-based Educational Employees Credit Union, was elected as vice chairman of the Foundation, while Hank Barrett, president and CEO of Modesto, CA-based Valley First Credit Union, will serve as secretary/treasurer. New members to the board include Rob Greaff, president and CEO of Delta Schools Federal Credit Union in Antioch, CA; Wally Murray, president and CEO of Greater Nevada Credit Union in Carson City, NV; Kevin Posey, president and CEO of San Bernardino Schools Employees Federal Credit Union in San Bernardino, CA; and Brad Houle, president and CEO of CAHP Credit Union in Sacramento, CA.
Past board chairman Jim Updike will remain on the board as member emeritus.
Lozano—who has served as the Foundation’s executive director on a part-time basis while also serving on the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues staff--was promoted to full-time status, effective Jan. 1, 2015. Lozano will be responsible for giving direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Foundation’s philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. The Foundation’s signature program is Bite of Reality, a reality fair for teens to learn about budgeting and personal finance in a fun, interactive way.
Lozano serves on the California Department of Education’s Business Education Resources Group (BERG), helping to draft standards and curriculum for Career Technical Education. Other affiliations include serving as chairman of the State Credit Union Foundation Network Executive Committee, the California Jump$tart Coalition, and as a member on the California State Controller’s Financial Literacy Advisory Committee.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in the credit union movement, including at WesCorp and the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues. She received a bachelor’s degree in communication arts from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and is a 2013 graduate of Western CUNA Management School.
