United Federal Credit Union adds nine locations to the growing CO-OP Shared Branching network

Credit Union’s 168,000 members now have access to services at more than 5,700 branches nationwide

CO-OP Financial Services today announced that United Federal Credit Union, a $2.6 billion Michigan-based financial cooperative, is joining CO-OP Shared Branching, adding nine of its branches to the growing network.

“Like many credit unions, we’re focused on our members and the community, yet we are also inspired by change,” said Stacy Fillmore, United’s Chief Lending Officer. “We are excited by new opportunities, particularly those that leverage technology to meet our members where they are. CO-OP Shared Branching accomplishes this by giving our members the added convenience of being able to conduct transactions in a network branch while traveling or relocated for extended periods.”

Today, the network is composed of more than 5,700 locations throughout the United States to serve members of about 1,800 participating credit unions.

Shared branching provides a unique competitive advantage of the credit union industry, enabling members to enter any CO-OP Shared Branching location and transact their business as if they were in the home office of their own credit union. The network is a key part of CO-OP’s roster of solutions enabling credit unions to offer members seamless, secure service across a wide variety of channels.

“Providing exceptional service to our members is the reason we come to work each day, and we are always searching for new ways to make their lives easier,” said Fillmore. “The CO-OP Shared Branch network is truly an extension of who we are and the experiences we provide members every day.”

CO-OP provides an online and app-based locator to easily find CO-OP Shared Branching and CO-OP ATM locations. More information on the CO-OP Shared Branch network can be found by visiting CO-OP’s website at www.co-opfs.org.
