“Pause for Paws” at America’s Christian Credit Union matches pet lovers with animal in need

Last weekend, America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) proudly hosted its fifth annual pet adoption event, affectionately known as “Pause for Paws.” The aim of Paws is to unite adoptable dogs, cats, and other animals with loving families. This objective correlates with ACCU’s priority to “help build stronger families.”

"ACCU is steadfast in its commitment to building stronger families. Our goal is and always has been to eliminate any barriers to adoption, whether through our adoption grant and loan programs for children, or events like Paws, which facilitates placement of four-legged family members. Our aim is to enrich and bless full and loving homes!” commented ACCU President/CEO Mendell L. Thompson.

In support of ACCU’s’ Pause for Paws event, community members from Glendora and surrounding areas of Orange, Los Angeles and the Inland Empire gathered to support these furry friends through door prize raffle proceeds, patronizing animal grooming services, and the delivery of rescued and sheltered animals into permanent homes. This year's Paws featured food, fun, two dozen pet-themed raffle prizes, and over 30 vendors. Last week’s event resulted in the adoption of 27 dogs into loving families, while funds raised through donations and purchases were passed along as contributions to shelters and pet rescue groups who were represented at the event.

“To be able to exceed our goals and watch 27 adoptions happen makes me proud that so many great members of our community have opened up their homes to these lovable animals in need," said Thompson.
