Jody Brown, a financial advisor with Summit Financial Advisors located at Summit Credit Union, has been named a Woman of Distinction by CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. (CBSI). The exclusive honor recognizes female financial advisors for their outstanding efforts and accomplishments in promoting financial security.
CBSI presents the Women of Distinction honor to top female financial advisors across a vast broker-dealer operation. Candidates are nominated by industry peers, while final selections are based on criteria including annual performance metrics and quality of service to clients. “Women of Distinction was honored to have Jody Brown serve as Chair in 2016. Her leadership helped define the goals and objects that were accomplished in 2016,” said Jennifer Klein, Sr. Manager of CBSI Learning and Development/CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc.
As part of her recognition, Brown (a native of Madison) will participate in a national mentoring program where she’ll mentor and develop resources for female advisors new to the industry.
Brown has been a Summit employee for over a decade helping members achieve goals by using strategies tailored to their unique financial circumstances and lifestyles. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and has earned the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) and Certified Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designations. Additionally she earned a bachelor’s degree in consumer affairs in business from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Brown was also recently elected to the Senior Advisor Leadership Team (SALT) at CBSI for the second year in a row and serves as an ambassador for CBSI and its advisors nationwide.
