People Driven Credit Union announces 29th annual College Scholarship Essay Contest

People Driven Credit Union today announced it is accepting submissions for its 29th annual College Scholarship Essay Contest.

A total of $14,000 will be awarded to 10 winners who will be chosen based on their essays. The topic for the 2019 contest is: “Write a message to yourself on the day before your first day as a high school freshman. What advice would you give yourself? And what question would you ask the future you on the day after your college graduation?”

Students between the ages of 17 and 25 who are primary members on PDCU accounts and are planning to attend college during the 2019-2020 school year are eligible to participate in the essay contest.

“People Driven Credit Union is once again very excited to offer these scholarships to young people to assist in their higher education,” said PDCU President and CEO Renee DeMarco. “PDCU is proud to offer this scholastic support for the 29th year. We are eager to read these essays and discover the creativity these young writers have to offer.”

Entries are due by the end of business hours on Friday, June 7. Information on the contest and an application may be found at www.peopledrivencu.org/member-services/special-services/scholarships.html. Essays should be 1-2 pages in length.
