New Horizons Credit Union’s employees presented a check for $3,500.00 representing fund raising efforts to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Giving back to the community is important for New Horizons Credit Union with offices throughout south east Alabama. New Horizons Credit Union raised the majority of the funds through a loan campaign whereby every loan closed during the month of October would generate $10 to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Additional funds were raised via branch member and staff contributions. This year’s the Mobile Making Strides Walk was canceled due to extreme bad weather conditions. These additional funds collected helped with the overall fund raising endeavors of the organization.
For nearly 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been a comforting presence in nearly every community across the country, offering programs and support to help guide people facing breast cancer through every part their cancer experience. The money raised from the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events help provide free breast cancer programs and resources to women and their families.
“I am proud with how our employees and members joined together to help Making Strides Against Breast Cancer continue to do the good work they provide,” said New Horizons Credit Union President/CEO, Edith Franklin.
“We are thrilled with the generosity from New Horizons Credit Union – its members and staff,” commented Marlene Rathle, Senior Community Development Manager -Mobile, AL area of the American Cancer Society, Inc.
