First Financial Federal Credit Union was honored to support the WBAL News Radio’s Kids Campaign for the second year in a row by donating $5,500 to kids in need this holiday season. This year, the education-based credit union joined WBAL Radio personalities on December 19th to present their donation during their Annual Live Holiday Broadcast at Valley View Farms Garden Center and Nursery in Cockeysville, MD.
The funds raised from the Kids Campaign go toward the diverse needs of children in the Baltimore-area in the form of meals and toys for the holidays, summer camps and neighborhood programs, field trip transportation and much more. Valley View Farms provided a festive backdrop for the two-day event, which featured holiday entertainment and performances from local schools.
In addition to the donation to the WBAL Kids Campaign, First Financial found other ways to brighten the holidays for families in its communities. For its employee give-back program, First Financial employees participated in the Angel Tree Program for the Salvation Army of Central Maryland. Through the generous donations of First Financial employees, 100 angels were gifted with presents this holiday season. Plus, First Financial’s Risk and Information Technology team collected non-perishable food items for Assistance Center of Towson Churches, a local food pantry serving the community.
“First Financial is all about the kids and our community,” explained First Financial Relationship Manager, Joan Pugh. “So, when the holiday season comes, we love having the opportunity to support programs like WBAL’s Kids Campaign and charitable organizations like the Salvation Army and the Assistance Center of Towson Churches. We’re honored to contribute to these organizations who not only help to spread holiday cheer but also have a lasting impact on the families in our community throughout the entire year.”
