For the third year in a row, Premier Members Credit Union received recognition for its sustainability program by being awarded Silver for the Louisville Green Business Program. The award, presented February 27 by the City of Louisville and Boulder County’s Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE), recognizes businesses for their investments and contributions to the economic vitality of the community and the health of the environment. Honorees exemplify environmental achievement and champion energy and water conservation, waste reduction and alternative transportation.
“I’m excited to see so many businesses participating and collaborating on solutions to address climate change in Louisville,” said Miles Hoffman, Sustainability Specialist for Premier Members Credit Union. “Municipal programs for green business certifications allow Premier Members Credit Union to continuously share and improve our sustainability program at all of our locations. The ever-growing sustainable network in Colorado will only accelerate the solutions we need now and for the future.”
In 2018, Premier Members Credit Union became the first credit union in the nation to hire a full-time sustainability specialist focused on reducing environmental impact while promoting positive community engagement. The credit union is currently pursuing environmental initiatives to reduce resource use across all of its operations. These initiatives include zero waste efforts, energy and water efficient infrastructure, as well as employee participation and recognition programs.
