Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, PSECU, will welcome Sandra K. Holzgen, a human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, as its new Vice President of Human Resources on March 23.
“PSECU has long held the philosophy that the better we take care of our employees, the better able they will be to serve our more than 450,000 valued members,” said PSECU President and CEO George Rudolph. “We look forward to welcoming Sandra Holzgen as our new Vice President of Human Resources, a role responsible for directing human capital, organizational development, and talent management strategies of our employee base of more than 950 people. Her strong background and experience leading human resources initiatives in the financial services industry is sure to be of great value to our staff, and in turn, our members as well.”
As PSECU’s Vice President of Human Resources, Holzgen will direct the human capital, organizational development, and talent management strategies of Pennsylvania’s largest credit union. Holding a key leadership position, she will help elevate and optimize PSECU’s human resources function to support the overall goals of the organization. Her key responsibilities will include talent development and management, workplace engagement, staff recruitment and retention, and employee relations.
Most recently, Holzgen served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President for Macatawa Bank, a full-service community bank with more than 400 employees headquartered in Holland, Michigan. In this role, she was responsible for the organization’s human resources policies, programs, culture, and change management. Her past experience also includes more than 15 years with Fifth Third Bancorp in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she held several titles, ending her tenure as Senior Vice President and Organizational Development Manager. Additionally, she was employed in a human resources capacity for over 5 years with Old Kent Bank in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
“It’s an honor to join such a well-known and highly esteemed institution as PSECU,” Holzgen said. “Through implementation of sound human resources, project management, and organizational development strategies, I hope to help PSECU maximize efficiencies and drive positive business results. I’m excited to take on this new career challenge and to have the opportunity to contribute to lasting benefits for the credit union’s employees and membership.”
Holzgen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Aquinas College and a Master of Science in Positive Organizational Development and Change from Case Western Reserve University. She holds several certifications, including Development Dimension International (DDI), Team Training, Harassment Prevention for Managers, and Prosci Change Management, and is Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) accredited.
Holzgen replaces Cathy Tama-Troutman, who will retire at the start of March after holding PSECU’s Vice President of Human Resources title since 1987.
