Blue Eagle Credit Union has been egging people

Spreading positivity in a time of need: #BlueEagleEggedMe and #EagleVision2020

Life is different right now. You see and hear it everywhere. People are secluded, lonely, stressed, and feeling disconnected. Small businesses are struggling, and non-profits are facing monumental challenges in meeting the increasing needs of our community. In an effort to support local small businesses and area non-profits, as well as spread some joy, Blue Eagle Credit Union has been egging people in our community!

#BlueEagleEggedMe

Last week, Blue Eagle decided to “see egg hunts differently” and randomly sent out 1,800 eggs (stuffed with treats) to people in the community. Their Facebook post read: We’re bringing the egg hunt to YOU! Eggstreme times sometimes call for eggstra fun to lift some spirits and spread some joy. Realizing so many egg hunts were cancelled and Easter looks a bit differently this year, our team decided to See Egg Hunts Differently. After all, our tagline isn't “See Banking Differently” for nothing! We’re sending out 1,800 eggs, filled with treats from local businesses, to random recipients in the Roanoke and Lynchburg areas. We'll be doing some bonus social media giveaways this week, too. If you get the lucky 'you've been egged' package, share the fun with everyone by posting a video of you opening your eggs - be sure to tag us with BlueEagleCreditUnion and #BlueEagleEggedMe. Happy Easter!

Blue Eagle sees that the health of a person or community goes beyond just the physical aspects. There’s a need for positive energy, support, and encouragement to promote mental and emotional well-being too. There’s a balance needed. Blue Eagle CU recognizes the seriousness of the current environment, but also recognizes the need for positive energy and support. While doing their part to limit the spread of the virus, they really want to spread smiles and help people.

But, it doesn’t stop there. The fun continues with #EagleVision2020

To keep the positive energy going and further support the community during the next two weeks, Blue Eagle Credit Union will randomly select two Eagle Vision sessions each day for a Get $20 Give $20 (#EagleVision2020). These lucky members will receive a $20 prize and will also be asked to select a local charity of choice to receive a matching donation. They can choose our local United Way, American Red Cross, or Feeding America. Let the fun continue!

Furthermore, Blue Eagle is challenging their Facebook fans to find a way to share positivity. They want others to share what they're doing, whether that’s reading to kids, calling and checking on elderly neighbours, delivering meals, working in the hospital, working at the grocery store, sending cards to friends who need encouragement...they want to hear about the good that's happening right now!

Blue Eagle is hoping you’ll begin to see banking differently. At Blue Eagle, they believe banking doesn’t have to be boring and it doesn’t have to be a silo. Your banking partner should be a natural part of your life’s journey – there to support you when you need it most! In fact, they strive to help members Pay Less, Earn More, and Have Fun doing it. It’s says so right on their website home page.

Living up to their mission of ‘delivering solutions,’ Blue Eagle is offering a host of hardship assistance solutions, including waiving service charges, providing skip payments for loans and credit cards, making loan modifications, and more! Recognizing that schedules may vary, that some people may need a little more assistance while learning how to bank virtually, and that the credit union has the capacity to fully serve members with longer hours, Blue Eagle CU expanded their operating hours to Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. While their offices remain closed, they are open virtually – doing business through a wide range of digital services and over the phone.
