Ian Walker has joined Ideal Credit Union as Branch Manager for the credit union’s North St. Paul branch. Walker has 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, including 3 years in management. Prior to joining Ideal, he worked as a Branch Manager for Royal Credit Union.
Walker has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from UW-Eau Claire and an MBA from Colorado Technical University. Volunteer efforts include serving on the CU4Kids Committee with the MN Credit Union Network, raising funds for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Walker will be responsible for providing leadership and development in all branch operations. He will ensure branch staff will provide excellent member service to exceed our members’ expectations and will also take an active role in the North St. Paul business community.
Walker takes over the reins of the North St. Paul branch from Marcus Winter, who moved to Ideal’s Woodbury branch in April following the retirement of long-time branch manager Liz Fleischhacker. Winter has also served as branch manager at Ideal’s Eagan office and Assistant Branch Manager at the credit union’s former West St. Paul location.
“Ian brings a wealth of financial knowledge and leadership to his new position and will work with his staff to build meaningful relationships, learn members’ goals and needs, and make appropriate product and service recommendations as they seek to achieve their ‘ideal life’,” said Brian Sherrick, Ideal CU President/CEO. “We are excited to have Ian on our team.”
