HopeSouth Federal Credit Union announced the winners of its 2020 High School Scholarship Program. The three winning students –Sara Beth Ferguson (Abbeville High School), Makenzie Noel Dansby (Dixie High School), Josie Parnell (Calhoun Falls Charter High School)– were each bestowed $1,000.
The application process considers school and community activities, level of participation, leadership roles and financial need. Students were also asked to complete an essay about their community and what they are doing to make it a better place.
“We had some outstanding submissions. It was extremely hard to narrow it down to our three winners,” said CEO Faye Crocker. “We are incredibly proud to support them in their pursuit of their education and careers.”
