Security Service Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs

Donation to provide meals for people in need

The Security Service Charitable Foundation is partnering with the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs to feed neighbors in need by providing a $5,000 donation. Funds will be used to help fund the Salvation Army’s food pantry, lunch and dinner service, sack lunches and hot meals at the RJ Montgomery Homeless Shelter, mobile feedings for the Emergency Disaster Services’ mobile kitchen, meals for veterans, meals for seniors, and grocery deliveries for people without transportation.

“Whenever there is a need in Colorado Springs, you will find the Salvation Army and our partners like the Security Service Charitable Foundation,” said Brett Marie Harrison, marketing and PR director for Salvation Army of Colorado Springs. “Together, we are working to feed thousands of people in the Colorado Springs area. This is a critical service that seeks to not only assist those in need but also help end the cycle of poverty.”

Aside from providing emergency food services, the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs also provides social services, housing, ministry, youth programs, and emergency disaster assistance.

“Hunger is a daily challenge for millions of people in the United States,” said Derrick Aguilar, senior vice president of member service—Mountain Region for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “This inspires us to partner with the Salvation Army of Colorado Springs to feed our neighbors, providing them a first step towards health and a more fulfilled life.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.
