Jax Federal Credit Union, a Jacksonville-based credit union that serves more than 39,000 members across Duval, Clay, Nassau, Baker and St. Johns Counties, announced it will once again participate in America Saves Week (Feb. 22-26, 2021). Jax Federal Credit Union has participated in this campaign every year since 2017.
America Saves Week is a national campaign coordinated by America Saves and its partners. The campaign started in 2007 and provides an opportunity for organizations to promote good savings behavior, encourage individuals to assess their own savings habits and inspire Americans to commit to saving successfully.
Jax Federal Credit Union will celebrate America Saves Week at all eight of its Northeast Florida branches by waiving the $5 membership fee with a qualifying $5 deposit to establish a savings account. Additionally, the credit union will encourage members to explore products and services linked to daily themes throughout the week, such as:
• Monday, Feb. 22: Save automatically with Money Market accounts
• Tuesday, Feb. 23: Save for the unexpected with You-Name-It savings
• Wednesday, Feb. 24: Save to retire by contributing to an IRA
• Thursday, Feb. 25: Save by reducing debt with a Visa Balance Transfer
• Friday, Feb. 26: Save as a family with Teen accounts
“The economic challenges of the pandemic have reinforced why strong savings habits are so important to long-term financial health,” said Mary Svoboda, Interim President and CEO of Jax Federal Credit Union. “Through our participation in America Saves Week, we hope to provide valuable information and resources to support our members in all of their savings goals.”
Jax Federal Credit Union offers several savings account programs with low or no minimum balance requirements, including general savings, “You-Name-It” savings, holiday savings, youth savings and business savings.
