Teresa Campbell, President and CEO, San Diego County Credit Union, honored with a business leadership award

Campbell selected for making a positive impact in the local community

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), San Diego’s largest locally-owned financial institution, is proud to announce that SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell was honored with a Business Leadership Award at the North San Diego Business Chamber’s annual Celebration of Business event, held June 30, 2021 at the Bernardo Winery. The award celebrates the best and brightest in the San Diego business community, honoring business leaders who made the greatest positive impact on their organization and community.

“I am incredibly honored to be recognized with a Business Leadership Award among so many impressive leaders in the San Diego region,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “I accept the award on behalf of the SDCCU leadership team and over 800 employees for their commitment to excellence, innovation and providing exceptional service to members throughout Southern California.”

Campbell was selected by independent judges for demonstrating steadfast leadership in 2020 during a challenging year due to the COVID-19 pandemic along with directing the organization’s ongoing commitment to the San Diego community. For details, visit sdbusinesschamber.com.

Campbell has earned a number of notable awards for her accomplishments and leadership in the time she has been with SDCCU. In 2021 and 2020, she was selected as one of SD Metro Magazine’s Women of Influence. In 2020, she was named a Business Woman of the Year as well as a San Diego Top 50 Executive by the San Diego Business Journal. In 2019, she was named CEO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and recognized with the North San Diego Business Chamber’s 2019 Business Leadership Award. In 2018, she was selected as one of 25 San Diego Business Women of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal and honored with a Bronze Stevie Award for 2018 Female Executive of the Year.

Campbell serves on the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, CU Advisory Committee. She served two years, 2018 to 2020 on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Credit Union Advisory Council. She served as the 2012 and 2013 Board Chair of the California Credit Union League and has since continued her service to the League by serving as a Board and Committee Member. Campbell also serves as the Board Chair of the National Credit Union Foundation. Campbell’s educational background includes a BS – Accounting from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a MAS – Financial Management from The Johns Hopkins University.

The annual Celebration of Business event celebrates the best and brightest in San Diego’s business community by presenting business achievement awards in six prestigious categories: Lifetime Achievement, Emerging Leader of the Year, Business Leader of the Year, Business of the Year, Think Local First Champion of the Year and Healthiest Business of the Year.
