SDCCU’s Scott Maxwell named a Cybersecurity Stewardship Award finalist

SDBJ and Cyber Center of Excellence launched their inaugural cybersecurity Stewardship awards

San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), one of Southern California’s largest locally-owned financial institutions, is proud to announce that SDCCU Senior Vice President, Chief IT Security Officer Scott Maxwell, has been named a finalist of the 2021 Cybersecurity Stewardship Awards. The inaugural awards, presented by The San Diego Business Journal and the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE), celebrates companies going above and beyond to innovate new technologies and solutions, seed and diversify the talent pipeline and create a more secure San Diego.

Cybersecurity is now everyone’s business. With the FBI reporting a 300% increase in cybercrimes across all industries during the pandemic and a global shortfall of 3.5 million cyber professionals, it’s more critical than ever to address this systemic risk. SDCCU is proud to see the San Diego region working together to develop the next generation of cyber warriors, defenses and innovations.

“SDCCU takes cybersecurity very seriously and we pride ourselves on our efforts. Scott is very deserving of this award as he has created a top team and implemented systems to ensure the highest levels of security for our credit union,” said SDCCU President and CEO Teresa Campbell. “We are grateful he was recognized and honored among such a stellar group of executives in their field throughout San Diego.”
