Hughes Federal Credit Union was honored recently with two awards for campaigns that celebrate Hughes’ commitment to its members and the community.
The Community Impact Award, bestowed by the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM-GT), recognized Hughes’ "70 Acts of Kindness" campaign, which previously earned the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award. Initiatives included Hughes’ extensive volunteer work, financial literacy programs in local schools, support for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, and involvement in various community enrichment programs.
"Exceeding our goal by performing over 100 acts of generosity demonstrates the amazing support of our staff and their alignment with Hughes’ mission to always make a positive difference,” said Hughes’ Vice President of Marketing Elisa Ross. “It’s nothing short of outstanding.”
Hughes was also recognized with an award for excellence by the Southern Arizona chapter of PRSA. The award honored a successful branding campaign that leveraged values-based storytelling and member engagement to create genuine, heartfelt connections with its members.
"Winning this award is a heartwarming validation of our efforts," said Ross. "With this campaign, we wanted to capture the essence of what Hughes stands for – a deep, enduring commitment to our members and the community. It's not just about banking; it's about journeying together, growing together and achieving goals together."
