Registration open for Rock The Riverfront featuring The Charity Classic 2024: Charity beneficiaries announced

Registration is open for the Royal Credit Union Foundation (RCU Foundation) Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic. The event will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Eau Claire’s Phoenix Park and includes a 10K and 2 mile run/walk, ½ and ¼ mile youth races, family games, and food trucks. The Charity Classic is celebrating 30 years of running and walking to support organizations that make a difference in the communities that Royal Credit Union serves.

Recognizing the important role that household pets play in many people’s lives, proceeds from the 2024 Rock the Riverfront event will benefit three local animal rescue organizations: the Chippewa Humane Association, Dunn County Humane Society, and Eau Claire County Humane Association. These organizations are committed to providing care to animals while they wait for a second chance at finding loving families. The RCU Foundation is proud to support these organizations that make a difference in the Chippewa Valley.

Registration will be offered for both the in-person race and a virtual race through June 22 with special early bird pricing through February 28. In honor of the 30th anniversary of the Charity Classic, the RCU Foundation will donate a total of $30,000 to the nonprofit partners. Every registration includes a free charity vote and additional votes can be purchased at $2 each. The charity with the most votes will receive $15,000, second place will receive $10,000, and third will receive $5,000. Registration details are available at rcu.org/Race.

Rock the Riverfront featuring the Charity Classic offers beautiful running routes and the opportunity to benefit three organizations that are making a positive impact in local communities. In addition to the race, Rock the Riverfront has some great activities for runners and non-runners to enjoy. In the months leading up to the event, Royal will host a coloring contest as well as the Youth and Classic Rock Hunts. On the day of the event, Phoenix Park will be filled with food trucks, inflatables, kid’s carnival games, face painting, a balloon artist, a dunk tank, and a cash grab wind tunnel.
