Schultz joined TruStage in 2021 as President of Preplanning Solutions through the acquisition of that business from Assurant. In 2023, she added the role of Senior Vice President, B2B Sales.
She began her career at Assurant in October 1995 in a sales and marketing role, establishing herself as a strong leader with roles spanning communications and advertising, corporate development, field training, strategic partner relationship management, and organizational readiness and change management. In 2003, Schultz was promoted to Vice President, Corporate Development, where she focused on preneed business strategy. In that capacity, she helped grow the business to more than $1 billion in annual sales across North America. In 2012, Schultz was appointed Executive Vice President and President of Global Preneed.
As an extension of her role at TruStage, Schultz serves as an advisor to the Filene Institute Board.
Schultz was recognized in 2016 as a Woman Worth Watching by the Diversity Journal. In 2018, she was named chair of the Life Insurers Council (LIC) Board of Directors, an industry organization committed to supporting insurance companies serving the middle-income market that is connected to the Life Management Institute (LOMA) and the Life Insurance Marketing and Research Association (LIMRA). In 2019, Schultz was a featured speaker at the IICF Women in Insurance Global Conference. In 2022, she was a guest speaker at the Global Women’s Leadership Network.
Schultz graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Journalism, earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Purdue University Global, and is a Fellow of the Life Management Institute (LOMA). She achieved her Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation from the National Credit Union Foundation.
Outside of work, Schultz is passionate about giving back to the community through programs that foster mentoring.
