121 Financial Credit Union sponsors Veterans Of Influence Event in Jacksonville, Florida

JACKSONVILLE, FL (June 13, 2014) — 121 Financial Credit Union of Jacksonville, Florida, was a sponsor with the Wounded Warrior Project of the first annual Veterans of Influence breakfast conducted by the Jacksonville Business Journal.

The event was designed to recognize former military personnel who are also business leaders in Northeast Florida and who have had an impact in the community either through civic or business accomplishments. Twenty-five former military leaders were honored.

The keynote speaker was Staff Sergeant Erick Millette of the U.S. Army, who spoke about his ambush in Iraq and his recovery through the help of Wounded Warrior.

“Jacksonville has a very large military community, especially the Navy,” explained William Braddock, CEO of 121 Financial. “Our entire staff at 121 Financial appreciate their service to our country and we are glad to take any opportunity to recognize them for their sacrifices. We have a good number who are our members and we are always glad to be of service to them.”

Jacksonville is the home of two major Navy installations, the Naval Air Station Jax and Naval Station Mayport. Many of the Navy officers remain in Jacksonville after the conclusion of their active duty.
