$12903.46 donated to local food pantries!

Forest Area Federal Credit Union makes a difference in 4 local communities.

KALKASKA, MANTON, FIFE LAKE, KINGSLEY, MI (December 12, 2014) — Forest Area Federal Credit Union spent the month of November raising money for the local food pantries in the communities that their branches serve. These communities include:  Kalkaska, Fife Lake, Manton and Kingsley.  The Board of Directors of Forest Area Federal Credit Union authorized a Forest Area FCU dollar for dollar matching donation of the funds raised through member and staff donations once again this year! This support of the efforts of their staff to make a difference in their communities gives a grand total raised this year, with the matching funds, of $12903.46.

CEO Robert Raden says this about the fundraiser: ‘Special thanks go out to our local communities for stepping up and helping those less fortunate than themselves with these generous donations.  A special thanks to the staff of Forest Area Federal Credit Union for getting the word out about our fundraising efforts and helping us to be so successful in these efforts.  And last but not least a special appreciation to our Board of Directors for generously offering to double our fundraising efforts again this year.  It is only through the success of our organization which is a direct reflection of the dedication of our board and staff and the commitment of our community members to choose Forest Area Federal Credit Union as their partner in their financial success that allows us the opportunity to serve our communities in this way!’

The food pantries which will be receiving the funds raised this year include Family Care Network, Free Methodist Gleaners, St. Theresa’s Catholic Pantry and Colfax Community food pantry in the Manton area, the Methodist Church of Kingsley food pantry and the Baptist Church of Kingsley food pantry, KAIR Food Pantry of Kalkaska and the United Methodist Church (in partnership with St. Aloysius Catholic Church) Food Pantry in Fife Lake.
