El Paso, TX (June 16, 2025) |
The GECU Foundation proudly marked the successful conclusion of its 2025 Matching May campaign with a celebration at Southwest University Park during the El Paso Chihuahuas game on Saturday, June 7. The event recognized the community’s incredible support of 12 nonprofit organizations across El Paso and Southern New Mexico throughout the month-long campaign.
This year’s campaign raised a total of $230,156, with each dollar matched by the GECU Foundation up to $12,000 per participating nonprofit. The Matching May initiative continues to serve as a powerful reminder of what our community can accomplish when we work together to support causes that matter.
“We are truly inspired by the generosity and unity shown by our community during this year’s Matching May campaign,” said Emmeline Garcia, Executive Director of the GECU Foundation. “Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide critical resources to organizations that are making a real impact in the lives of individuals and families in our region.”
Throughout May, donations were matched to benefit the following organizations:
- Amistad
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso
- Candlelighters of West Texas and Southern New Mexico
