2 ABNB members receive the 2014 Jack E. O’Connor Memorial Scholarship.

CHESAPEAKE, VA (June 19, 2014) — ABNB Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce that 2 of its members, Julia Rodil and Sarah Williams, were chosen as recipients of the 2014 Jack E. O’Connor Memorial Scholarship offered by the Tidewater Chapter of Credit Unions.

Julia is currently enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, VA.  Julia is a member of Spanish, Science and National Honor Societies; Princess Anne High School swim team and a tutor at Princess Anne High School.  She’s also very active in her church and is a volunteer with the Chesapeake Guinea Pig Rescue.  Julia will be attending The College of William & Mary in the fall, majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience; with the goal of becoming a Certified Therapist to counsel victims of sexual violence and/or child trafficking.

Sarah is currently enrolled in the Health Science Academy at Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, VA.  Sarah is a member of the Medical Honor Society, Historian of the Science Club and Sportsmanship Captain and Co-Captain of the Gymnastics team.  She also volunteered with Operation Smile.  Sarah plans on attending Virginia Commonwealth University to pursue a Doctorate in Pharmacology.

The Jack E. O’Connor Memorial Scholarship is offered by the Tidewater Chapter of Credit Unions to qualified graduating seniors who plan to attend a college or university.  Several scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors that are members of credit unions in the Tidewater area.
