2019 United Heritage Community Scholarships awarded
$10,000 in scholarships awarded to Austin-area students Allison Agthe and Navya Janga
AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 21, 2019) — The United Heritage Community Scholarship Committee presented two $5,000 scholarships to Allison Agthe and Navya Janga at the 2019 Member Appreciation events. The two Austin-area high school seniors were selected based on their outstanding community service, extracurricular activities, academic performance and demonstrated commitment to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”
The Scholarship Committee considered a great number of applications before selecting Ms. Agthe and Ms. Jangaas the 2019 United Heritage Community Scholarship recipients. “These young women embody the qualities the Scholarship Committee and the Charity Foundation seek when making their selections,” United Heritage Charity Foundation Chairman May Lofgreen said. “We are proud to recognize the accomplishments of these two exceptional students.”
The Charity Foundation awarded Ms. Agtheher $5,000 scholarship on April 13, 2019. She plans to attend University of Texas at Austin.Ms. Janga was awarded her $5,000 scholarship on April 14, 2019. She plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania.
The mission of the United Heritage Community Scholarship Committee is to help grow and support service-oriented young people with a strong focus on higher education. More than $115,000 in scholarships has been awarded and 28 scholarship recipients honored over the 19-year scholarship history.
