AmFirst to host community-wide spring Shred Day

BIRMINGHAM, AL (March 10, 2020) — America’s First Federal Credit Union (AmFirst) will hold its spring Shred Day event on Saturday, March 21, from 8 a.m. until noon at its downtown Birmingham location.

Community members are encouraged to drop off documents for secure destruction, with services provided by Gone For Good, a program of United Ability and an Alabama-based secure document and e-waste solution management company.

Onsite donations of $5 per box/bag are encouraged and will benefit AmFirst’s Community First initiative.

WHEN: Saturday, March 21, 8 a.m. — 12 p.m.

WHERE: 1200 4th Ave N. Birmingham, AL 35203

OTHER:  AmFirst annually hosts two shred events per year — one in spring and one in fall. Secure document destruction will be provided by Alabama-based Gone For Good, a program of United Ability. No metals or batteries will be accepted. Organizers encourage a suggested donation of $5 per bag/box, with proceeds benefitting AmFirst’s Community First initiative and its three charities for 2020 support: Smile-A-Mile, Three Hots and a Cot and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham. Donations will be accepted via cash and cards. An ATM is available onsite.
