$500,000 donation presented to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at American Heritage Credit Union’s Annual Grand Illumination

Event Featured Holiday Concert, Sweepstakes Giveaway Totaling $25,000 and Firework Symphony; Kicks Off Month-Long Grand Illumination

PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 28, 2022) — American Heritage Credit Union kicked off its 15th Annual Grand Illumination on Saturday, November 26th. Over 22,000 community members enjoyed the illumination of American Heritage’s main campus along with free holiday performances and fireworks, food donations, a contribution to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the awarding of $25,000 in sweepstakes prizes to American Heritage members.

At the kickoff event, families enjoyed a concert featuring the Ukrainian Children’s Choir Soloveiky, the Philadelphia Boys Choir, and the New Jersey Fifes and Drums. Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross lent a colonial flavor to the evening’s events as well. American Heritage’s 2022 Stash of Cash Sweepstakes grand prize winner was selected from the four finalists and awarded $15,000. The Kids-N-Hope Foundation also presented CHOP with a check for $500,000 to continue supporting its Music Therapy Program.

“Grand Illumination has been a long-standing tradition for our credit union and surrounding area, and we see our kickoff event as our holiday gift to the community,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, President & CEO of American Heritage Credit Union and Chairman of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. “We hope this event brings holiday cheer and excitement to our community and members all season long. Additionally, we are honored to present $500,000 to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. The Kids-N-Hope Foundation has now contributed over $2.8 million since its founding to our partners at CHOP and have pledged to donate at least an additional $1.9 million over the next five years.”

Each year, the American Heritage campus buildings and trees are illuminated, and multiple light displays are featured throughout the campus grounds. Anyone from the community can visit the American Heritage campus between November 27th until New Year’s Day and stroll our campus for free, enjoy the decorations, and take family photos. Members of the public can also remain in their car and drive around our campus and enjoy the lights as well. Enter through our Red Lion Road or Jamison Road entrances. Free parking is available on site and our lights will shine daily beginning at dusk each night.
