Central Maine Federal Credit Union selects Synergent for core processing and integrated services

Ten-year Jack Henry Symitar core agreement supports credit union’s continued growth and expansion strategy

Synergent® has entered into a new ten-year hosted Jack Henry™ Symitar® core processing agreement with Central Maine Federal Credit Union. The credit union also signed new five-year agreements for digital banking, bill pay, mobile deposit capture, check fraud detection, check processing, and laser check printing. In addition, Central Maine Federal Credit Union renewed its existing agreements with Synergent for integrated debit card services, member marketing, and statement processing.

The expanded partnership builds on years of collaboration while bringing Central Maine Federal Credit Union’s core processing and key member service platforms together under one provider. By deepening an established relationship, the credit union is creating greater operational consistency while strengthening its foundation for future growth and technology planning.

“People expect transactions to be completed quickly and electronically, so it is vital to have a core processor that can handle those services in a timely and accurate manner,” said Kerry Hayes, President and CEO of Central Maine Federal Credit Union. “By converting to the Symitar platform through Synergent, our members will be able to access their accounts anywhere and anytime through secure channels. Financial services continue to change, and if we do not keep up with the technology, we are doing a disservice to our membership.”

Over the past few years, several initiatives have taken place throughout Central Maine Federal Credit Union, including a renovation of the Lewiston office that incorporates the credit union’s new brand identity. The branding work, developed with support from Synergent’s Marketing Solutions team, received a Gold MAC Award from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions. The updated identity provides a more modern visual presence for staff and members while reflecting the credit union’s focus on its members and its role in the community.

“Central Maine Federal Credit Union has been a steady presence across the region for a long time, and that comes through in how they serve their members,” said Tyler Hudson, President of Synergent. “They have been a valued partner for many years and we are honored they have chosen to expand on our relationship. We are excited to support their next chapter by bringing together core processing and integrated solutions and look forward to continuing to work alongside their team for many years to come.”

Headquartered in Lewiston, Maine, Central Maine Federal Credit Union has 6,460 members and holds over $143 million in assets. Its field of membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or go to school in Androscoggin, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Somerset, or Waldo County, as well as immediate family members of current members.
