8th annual Back To School Fair announces new title sponsor Suncoast Credit Union

TAMPA, FL (June 23, 2015) – Suncoast Credit Union (Suncoast) announces its title sponsorship of Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine’s eighth annual Back to School Fair on August 8th from 10 A.M to 5 P.M. at Westshore Plaza. The event is free to attend and will help bay area students and parents prepare for the upcoming school year.

According to the National Retail Federation’s 2014 Back to School Survey, the average family with children in grade school was projected to spend $669.28 on apparel, shoes, supplies and electronics, up 5 percent from 2013.

Suncoast will be on-site all day to answer parents’ questions and offer helpful information, including tips for how to stay on budget when school expenses add up. At the Suncoast Credit Union Back to School Fair, kids and parents will be able to pick-up school supplies, listen to informational workshops and discover the latest in educational technology. Festivities include live entertainment, hands-on activities, a scavenger hunt and more. Local business owners will provide information on health and safety, financial resources, and childcare. The first 500 children to visit Suncoast Credit Union’s booth will receive a backpack full of back to school supplies.

“Suncoast sponsors this event because it aligns with our mission to support education initiatives and it provides us with an opportunity to share the importance of financial literacy,” says Suncoast Credit Union Community Relations Director, Mary McDonald. “Back to school is a busy time for parents and we are pleased to provide beneficial resources for them and for students.”

This event brings the business community together to assist parents with what can be a challenging time of the year. For additional information, visit www.backtoschoolfair.com.
