AECU serves Habitat for Humanity as build sponsor

ST LOUIS, MO (Septmeber 23, 2014)  American Eagle Credit Union is proud to serve St. Louis’ Habitat for Humanity as an official 2014 build sponsor. Congressman William Lacy Clay and University City Mayor Shelley Welsh celebrated the local collaboration among financial institutions Monday during a wall-raising event at the build location in University City, Missouri.

“As a Credit Union, we promise to assist members with financial needs and goals, build sustaining relationships, and support the communities we serve-just as Habitat for Humanity does all around the world,” said Pier Alsup, Senior Vice President of Marketing. “The community component of credit unions is so deeply rooted in our philosophy. We’re humbled to work alongside other financial institutions to help those in need served by this great organization.”

American Eagle Credit Union is one of nine St. Louis area financial institutions joined together with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines helping a deserving St. Louis family realize their dream for homeownership. Its sponsorship includes significant financial and volunteer contributions. The build is the third in a five-year, five-state journey for FHLB Des Moines, its members and Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
