A+FCU encourages youth to get wild about saving

AUSTIN, TX (March 26, 2014) — A+ Federal Credit Union (A+FCU) understands teaching kids to save money is an important skill that will benefit them throughout their lives. To encourage savings, the Credit Union is inviting youth (18 and under) to get Wild About Saving during the month of April for its annual Youth Month Celebration in conjunction with Financial Literacy Month and National Credit Union Youth Week (April 21-27).

Throughout the month, youth members who make a $5 deposit will receive a prize and a chance to win a $100 Visa Gift Card. Plus, kids that open a Youth Membership account will receive a Wild About Saving t-shirt!

Thirty-four Austin area elementary schools will also participate in the Youth Month Celebration through the A+FCU Green Apple Deposit Day Program.

“Teaching children at an early age the importance of savings is the first step in helping them develop strong financial skills,” said A+FCU CEO Kerry A. S. Parker. “As a credit union, we continue to guide our youth through numerous financial educations programs to help them achieve a successful financial future.”
