Affinity Plus launches “Plus It Forward” website

New site created for sharing stories of kindness in their communities.

ST. PAUL, MN (September 9, 2014) — Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union announces the launch of its Plus It Forward website where people are encouraged to read and share stories about spreading kindness. The credit union hopes that as kindness is spread and Plus It Forward stories are shared on the website, followers will be empowered to echo the collection of good things people are doing in their communities.

The Plus It Forward website gives visitors the opportunity to learn about Plus It Forward through reading about the good deeds of others, posting their own acts of kindness, or creating a “You’ve Been Challenged” card. This card nominates recipients to perform an act of kindness and share their story on the Plus It Forward website. Upon sharing their act of kindness, individuals are asked to cite the number provided on the “You’ve Been Challenged” card so to show the powerful ripple effect a single act can have.

“Credit unions operate on the ‘people serving people’ philosophy, and are committed to improving the lives of others and enriching communities,” states Dave Larson, Affinity Plus President and CEO. “With Plus It Forward, our goal is to build an online community where people share stories of a positive difference they made in another person’s life or in their community, so that others become inspired to do the same.”

Affinity Plus introduced Plus It Forward on September 21, 2013, on “Plus It Forward Day.” Last year, credit union members and employees performed acts of including rebuilding a park, creating a community garden, hosting car washes, and more. This year’s Plus It Forward Day will take place Monday, October 13, 2014.
