Alex Sheen to keynote at 2016 America’s Credit Union Conference

WASHINGTON, DC (March 2, 2016) — Alex Sheen, founder of the non-profit organization and social movementbecause I said I would, will deliver the keynote address at America’s Credit Union Conference (ACUC), to be held June 26-29, 2016 in Seattle.

Founded in 2012 and inspired by his father’s passing, because I said I would is dedicated to improving humanity through kept promises. The organization distributes cards on which people write down promises they want to fulfill, either to themselves or to others. To date, Sheen has delivered more than 3.15 million because I said I would cards to more than 48 countries.

“Alex’s message about the power of promises will resonate with attendees regarding the commitment credit unions make every day to their members” said Jim Nussle, President/CEO of CUNA.

In his keynote, Sheen will tell the story of because I said I would and cite real life examples of kept promises to demonstrate the value of accountability in our personal and professional lives, a message that will especially resonate with attendees given the credit union movement’s core principle of People Helping People. Sheen’s keynote will be immediately followed by the presentation of Credit Union Magazine’s CU Hero of the Year Award.
